Learning Never Stops

While on a cook out with my daughter’s Mountain Biking group, she won a Leadership/Mentoring course and I must admit: I WANTED IT! Luckily the people doing the course were gracious enough to allow me to do it as well. I will NEVER say that I know everything about Leadership, but I do listen to and read everything I can get my hands on.

But I figure that even if I only come away from the course with one thing I didn’t know, it was a plus for me! Unfortunately I seem to be in the minority on this. Dealing with so many different people in my Avon business I am amazed constantly at the differences in the way people approach learning.

For example, I have the: I know everything, have great ideas and don’t want to share them with anyone and don’t need to learn anything person. It would be nice if I could see any of those ideas being put to work, but so far they seem to remain just ideas in their head.

Then there is the person who has every opportunity to learn from the best (not me) but just doesn’t have motivation to advantage of it.

Of course, on the other side of the coin is the 77 year old who is finishing her education and will get her degree next year and continues her learning everywhere she can. And one of my favorites, made up her mind to do new things and absorbs everything like a sponge and works hard to make it happen.

Each of these people are wonderful and I think the world of them, but can you really afford to stop learning?

So what kind of person are you? Do you approach each day with the attitude of what can I do today to learn and make my life more comfortable and business more profitable? Or do you sit back and let life just happen?

Make today the day you start to become proactive in your life! Learn from people who have been there!
