New Rep – Ready to Work on first Order?*

  • Your Avon Brochures – You received 20 Avon Brochures with your Start-Up which was 10 for two campaigns.  Ten for each campaign. But since brochures are ordered two campaigns in advance you will need to add brochures to each order (including your first order) to be able to keep your store open and customers happy.  When working on your first order be sure to only use the books that are appropriate for that campaign. ALWAYS REMEMBER that since brochures come in packs of 10, if you want 20 you order 2 packs, thirty 3 packs and so on.  The more you get the cheaper they get so be sure order plenty to continue building your customer base. You can find out the cost of the brochures by clicking on Order Brochures in the My Order Section and then Brochure Pricing Info.  You can also back order brochures to get more for a particular campaign or order regular brochures by using the product number. 055-745.   Just remember that they are two campaigns ahead so, for example,  if you want Campaign 10 you would use the dropdown menu and place it on 8.
  • Adding Sales Tax – All Avon Representatives are required to collect sales tax and send it to Avon with our regular payment on products that we sell to others or to ourselves.  The tax you must charge is based on where YOU live!  You can find your tax rate at the bottom of a local receipt.  Or if you prefer, you can use the tax calculator on youravon.com under the heading My Account.  When you write up a customers receipt you add it in the appropriate place at the bottom and send the money to Avon with your regular payment and Avon takes it from there.
  • How do I get Paid? – For traditional sales, when you place an order, you write them up a receipt.  Be sure to include the $.75 order processing charge and the appropriate taxes.  Collect your money from them and give them a copy of the receipt showing what they ordered and what they paid.  When you place your order with Avon (everyone’s order goes in together), you will be charged for the cost of product, sales tax, brochures, and any business tools that you need. Your profit (or commission) is the between what you collect and what you owe Avon.  When a customer places an online order on your e-Rep site, Avon gives you the commission as a credit and you won’t owe them as much.  If you do not owe Avon anything and have direct deposit, it will accumulate to $25.00 and then be deposited in your account.

Persistence? Does It Work?

Persistence, endurance, tenacity, doggedness!  If you are like me, you have heard these words all your life!  But what do they really mean and do they really have a significant place in our daily life or our business?  I think they do!!  Throughout history, people have proved over and over that if you are willing to accept rejection and keep on trying, you can succeed.

Some of just a few famous people who succeeded because they were persistent are listed below.  Check them out, I bet you will recognize a few of them.

Walt Disney – Walt’s first animation company went bankrupt.  His news editors said he had no imagination and fired him.  History tells us that he was turned down 302 times trying to get financing for Disney World.  But because he was determined and persevered everyone knows MICKEY MOUSE.

Colonel Sanders  – We all eat his chicken and we know he was an older guy in a white suit.  What most people don’t realize is that when he got his social security check for $105 he was angry.  But instead of making do, he MADE it.  He decided that restaurant owners would love his fried chicken recipe, their sales would grow and he would make money,.  Driving across the country, sleeping in his car and of course wearing his white suit he was turned down 1009 times.  But it just took one yes and because of his persistence he made history, and by the way, a lot of money.

J. K. Rowling – The author of the Famous Harry Potter series started the book while divorced, raising a child on her own with no money.  When she finally finished the book it was rejected by twelve publishers.  When it was finally accepted for publication over a year later, she was advised to get a day job because there is no money in children’s books.

While I don’t put myself in the class of those people yet, I do know the value of persistence, especially in my Avon business.  In the course of my sales, I have certainly heard rejection, but I keep on going and keep on asking and it works.  If you have noticed that my blogs lately seem a little strange, it is because I wanted to be able to put a video on them.  You have no idea how many times that was a dismal failure, but I was SO determined and I am now able to add my videos on my blogs.  I was persistent and I found a way! Just making a video seemed like a mountain I would never climb, but with sheer determination I have succeeded.  I have a ways to go to be good at it, but I will keep trying to be better!   I hope you will take a minute and watch the videos and let me know what you think.

I hope this gives you some food for thought and you will keep working on getting those Yes answers that in variably follow any no’s that you get.

  • Your Personal Campaign Schedule – We submit our orders on a regular schedule and you need to be sure that you place your order on the day it is due.  You can find your schedule two different ways. One way is to click on your profile at the top of the page and then on RPS code – see calendar. All campaigns are listed down the left side and under the column youravon.com/F.A.S.T. Talk you will find the date to submit either online or by phone.  If you know your RPS you can also get the schedule by clicking on Campaign Tools on your home page, then Campaign Selling Calendars and then the appropriate RPS.
